Programming Keys
(Mitel Integrated Configuration Wizard)

To program the keys on an office extension or teleworker set, either select the phones first or just click the Edit Keys button to begin programming ALL users or only those with specific device types or directory numbers.

The following programming rules apply:

  1. Key 1 is always reserved for the phone's prime line and does not appear in the list of programmable keys.

  2. When programming phones selected in the Office Extensions or Teleworker Phone Users list, the keys (if previously programmed with the wizard) belonging to the first phone in the selection will be used as a template for all the other phones.

  3. 48 keys, which is the amount available on the phone with the most programmable keys, are displayed unless programming by device type. Any programming data entered for keys that do not exist on a phone is ignored.

  4. Analog and single line phones (5001 IP and 5201 IP) are excluded when programming by DN range since these devices do not have programmable keys.

  5. Changing a device type to one that has fewer keys removes any previously applied programming on keys that do not exist on the new device. Similarly, if the device type selected has more keys, those will be defaulted to 'Not Assigned'.

  6. To program HTML Applications to keys, obtain the HTMLAppsList.txt file from the MiVoice Business system and copy into the 'HTMLApps' folder located where the wizard is installed. The default installation path is C:\Program Files\Mitel\Mitel Integrated Configuration Wizard\2.0\HTMLApps. If you don't have the HTMLAppsList.txt file, the wizard will assign the embedded applications (People, Conference Unit, Settings, etc.)

  7. MiVoice Business, not the wizard, validates whether features are supported on the phone(s) you are programming. Validation takes place when you apply the programming to MiVoice Business.

  8. On 5302, 5603, 5604, 5607, 5610, 5613, 5614, 5624 and 5634 SIP phones, key 2 is set to a Multicall appearance of the phone's prime number.

  9. For Multicall and Key System group keys which require a directory number, you have the option of specifying a number or using the the phone's prime number. The number you choose depends on whether you want the prime number or some other number to be the one dialed to call the group.

  10. Programming keys for 612 SIP-DECT, 622 SIP-DECT, 632 SIP-DECT, and 650 SIP-DECT phones are not supported in the Mitel Integrated Configuration Wizard. You can program the keys for these phones using the MiVoice Business System Administration Tool.

  11. Provisioning of the following line types are not supported for 69xx series IP phones in the Mitel Integrated Configuration Wizard :

  12. Headset

  13. Speaker

  14. Phone App

  15. URL Line
